What the meanig of «Food grade lubricants»?


Food grade lubricants are speciality lubricants used in the food, pharmaceutical and other industries, namely where there is a risk of lubricants coming into contact with food, beverages or medicines. These lubricants are designed to be safe for humans in the event of accidental contact of lubricants with products in the workplace, and are made from materials approved by food regulatory authorities such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the European Union (EU). Some common examples of food grade lubricants include hydraulic oils, gear oils, chain lubricants and compressor oils.
