News:
Contamination of fuel in the engine oil

How often do you check the engine oil level in your engine? Most people probably don’t do it at all, especially if the car is quite new (some cars don’t even have the option to do this the “traditional” way with an oil dipstick).
But sometimes the oil level on the dipstick is above the “maximum” sign. If you filled in the correct volume of oil at the last change, the most likely reason is that the amount of fuel in the oil is too high, which may indicate certain malfunctions in the engine, that are worth paying attention to. Of course, even in a fully healthy engine, a certain amount of fuel and exhaust gases get into the crankcase through the gaps between the piston rings and the cylinder, but this amount will not significantly affect the total volume of oil. Therefore, if you notice a significant increase, this is a reason to check, because this situation has certain negative consequences:
– oil viscosity decreases, which negatively affects the oil’s ability to create a layer of oil film and, as a result, dramatically increases the wear of bearings and parts that are subjected to friction;
– accelerates oil oxidation, the so-called oil aging, when its physical and chemical parameters change.
The most common recommendation is to check the oil level every few weeks or 1000 km. If you are going on a long journey, make sure you do this before you start your journey. Spending a minimum amount of time doing this will save your engine and your finances.
