Lubricants for rubber and elastomers – SUNOCO SUNPAR

Rubber is essential in nearly every industry today. Most rubber compounds are derived from the Brazilian hevea tree, which is primarily cultivated in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, Sarawak, and Brunei.
To cut costs and enhance processing, some rubber is produced with fillers. These rubber fillers can include oil, carbon black, or oil-soot.
To produce oil-filled rubbers, petroleum oils with both high and medium aromatic content are utilized. Incorporating these oils considerably lowers the cost of rubber, as they are 3-4 times less expensive than the monomers used in rubber production, without compromising rubber quality. The Sunoco Sunpar series of oils, designed specifically for this purpose, consists of paraffinic process oils. These oils are derived from highly refined base oils and are available in a broad range of viscosities.
The Sunoco Sunpar series of oils offers several advantages:
- Minimal evaporation losses.
- Low volatility.
- Low aromatic hydrocarbon content.
- Low pour point.
- High paraffinic hydrocarbon content.
- Excellent color stability, even after oxidation and prolonged UV exposure.
